Severus Alexander, (A.D.222-235), silver denarius, issued A.D. 222, Rome mint, (3.54 g), obv. laureate head to right, slightly draped, around IMP SEV ALEXAND AVG, rev. IOVI CONSERVATORI, Jupiter standing left holding thunderbolt and sceptre, with small figure of Severus Alexander before (S.7869, RIC 200, RSC 73, BMC 690); another issued 228, Rome mint, (2.20 g), obv. laureate head to right, around IMP SEV ALE XAND AVG, rev. P M TR P VII COS II P P, Severus Alexander as Romulus (Mars) advancing to right, holding trophy and spear, (S.7906, RIC 85, RSC 351). Toned, nearly very fine - nearly extremely fine. (2)
