Ionia, Herakleia ad Latmon, silver tetradrachm, (c.140-135 B.C.), (16.53 g), obv. head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with Pegasos flying to right above the foreparts of five galloping horses, rev. club to right, **HRAKEWTWN* above, monograms to left and right of owl below, all within oak wreath tied to the left, (S.4453, Stella Lavva [Chiron Vol.23, 1993] Group I, Seyrig, Tresors II, Pl.33, 25.18, SNG Lockett 2824, SNG von Aulock 1977, Pozzi 2453). Nearly extremely fine, superb portrait, with some weakness around edge, very rare.
