Attica, Islands off, Aegina (Aigina), (c.525-480 B.C.), silver stater (12.07 g), obv. sea turtle, head in profile, with thick collar and trace [row of dots] down its back, uncertain countermark in centre, rev. small incuse square with mill-sail pattern, (S.1851, Meadows, Aegina, Group IIb, Milbank pl I, 11, Asyut Group IIb, No.466, HGC 6, 429, cf.SNG Cop.501, cf.Dewing 1673, cf.Rosen 216). Struck on an uneven, off-centred flan, fine and rare with countermark.
