Thrace, Island off Thrace, Thasos, (after 148 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.65 g), obv. head of the young Dionysos wearing ivy wreath to right, rev. naked Herakles standing facing head to left, holding club and lion skin, around **HPAKLEOUS SWTHROS QASIWN*, to left in field a monogram **HDTR*, (S.1759, BMC 72-73, 67-71, SNG Cop. 1049) (illustrated); a mixed lot, including Egypt, Ptolemaic AE 29, different types (4), other minor Seleukid etc AE 13-19 (5); Roman silver denarii of posthumous Antoninus Pius, Caracalla (2, one in base metal), Gordian III antoninianus, rev. Aequitas; Spain, 8 Maravedis 1833/1 and 1828? (KM.18). Mostly fair - very good a few better, Ptolemaic need conservation, the tetradrachm bent and off centred. (16)
