Sicily, Syracuse, silver tetradrachm, time of the Second Democracy, (c.420 B.C.), signed by the unknown master 'A', (17.16 g), obv. charioteer, holding kentron and reins, driving slow quadriga to right; above, Nike flying to left, crowning charioteer with wreath, rev. **SURAKOSION head of Arethousa to right with bound hair enveloped in a sakkos, [neck signed with a latter A], four dolphins spaced around, (cf.S.933, Boehringer 706 [V346/R480], SNG ANS 238 (same dies), HGC 2, 1322). Evenly worn, small flan as usual, good fine and very scarce.
