50th Infantry Battalion (The Tasmanian Rangers), 1930-42, Rising Sun hat badge in oxidised bronze (44mm), and a matching pair of collar badges in oxidised bronze (Cossum p27, b), all by Stokes & Sons, Melbourne. All badges heavily blackened on reverse, otherwise nearly extremely fine. (3)
Cossum notes that this unit was linked with the 12th Battalion in 1936 and the territorial title of 'The Tasmanian Rangers' was approved in 1937. It wore the badge of the unit it was linked to or the Rising Sun badge as listed above.
