Italy, Sicily (Regno), Federico (Frederick) II, (1197-1250), billon denarius, 18mm, (0.75 g), Messina mint, struck c.1225, obv. + F. IMPERATOR around cross, three pellets in corners 1 and 3, rev. bust of ruler left, IERL'SICIL REX around,(Spahr p.197, 113); together with another denarius, 16mm, (0.70 g), Messina or Brindisi mints, c.1246, obv. and rev. similar legends, obv. IP in field, rev. no pellets, (Spahr p.201, 137). Very fine, fine. (2)
