On 26 Feb1902 a Court of Enquiry was held at No.18 General Hospital Charlestown into the circumstances under which 539 Tpr L.Destre (sic), K.Coy 5 Q.I.B. was injured. Tpr Destree stated that on 9Feb the unit was trekking at night and his horse put its foot in a hole and threw him. He was taken to Kerstroom Hospital a few days after with his back hurting. The Court found that the back contusion was not caused by the horse falling on him.
