John V Palaeologus, (A.D. 1341-1391), silver eighth stavrata (16mm), (1.05 g), Constantinople mint, struck 1367-1376, obv. facing bust of Christ Pantocrator; pellets flanking, rev. Crowned facing bust of John, (S.2512, DOC 1247; LPC p. 154, 3). Very fine, lightly toned, struck from a worn reverse die, scarce.
