SC around, TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG GERM P M TR P IMP P P (S.1905, RIC 106, BMC 215, C.9) (illustrated); Thessaly, under Claudius, (41-54 A.D.), AE 24 dupondius or diassarion, (8.46 g), Burrer dates 45/6-54/5, obv. bare head of Claudius to right, **QESSAL[WN SEBAS]THWN* around, rev. Athena Itonia to right with spear and shield, monogram of ANTO (Antigonou), **ANTIGONOU STRATHGOU* around, (S.-, Rogers -, Burrer series 3, 43 [obv.15, rev.34], RPC 1436).
