Description

Lydia, Alyattes, (c.610-550 B.C.), electrum 1/96th stater, (0.134 g), 3mm diam., Ephesos mint, Lydo-Milesian standard, obv. figural type of lion's paw, rev. incuse square punch with central dot, (cf.S.3405, Karwiese Series I, Group I (Ephesus), Weidauer -, SNG von Aulock 1805 [uncertain Ionia [Elektron II], M&M Auction Sale 10, Sammlung Elektron, 22 March 2002 [lot 70 as uncertain Ionia mint]). Very fine and rare.
