Syria, Kingdom of, Demetrius II, first reign, (145-140 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.73 g), Seleucia on the Tigris mint, issued 145-141 B.C., obv. diademed head of Demetrius II to right, fillet border, rev. Tyche enthroned left, holding short sceptre and cornucopiae, on right, **BASILEWS/ DHMHTRIOU* and on left **[FI]LADELFOU/[NI]KATOR[OS]*, monogram below TAY in exergue. (cf.S.7050, SC 1984.1, SNG Israel I [Spaer] 1752, Houghton 1010, HGC 9, 867). Lightly toned, good fine, scarce.
