Syria, Kingdom of, Demetrios I Soter, (162-150 B.C.), silver drachm (3.85 g), Ekbatana mint, struck 152-151 B.C., obv. Diademed head right dotted border, diadems falling straight behind, rev. Apollo Delphios seated left on omphalos, **BASILEWS DHMHTRIOU [SWTHROS]* around, (cf.S.7017, A. Houghton, "The Chronology of the Later Coinage of Demetrius I at Ecbatana" in "Four Seleucid Notes," AJN 5-6 (1993-94), cf.SC 1731.2, HGC 9, 803a). Toned, good very fine/very fine, scarce.
