Ionia, Teos, silver didrachm, (510/505 - 495/490 B.C.), (12.24 g), obv. Griffin seated to right, jaws open, tongue protruding, large ears, curved wings, left foreleg raised vertically, lower right field grape cluster and leaf, rev. quartered square incuse, (cf.S.44576, Balcer Group VII, No.15 [obv. die A15, uncertain reverse punch, SNR 1968 Vol XLVIII, p.27], BMC 4 [p.309], Naville 5 [lot 2592], SNG von Aulock 2254, SNG Lockett 2851, Jameson 1516, SNG Fitz. 4587, Boston 1938 [p.245 same obv. die, Pl.87]), Off centred obverse, very fine and rare.
