Akarnania, Anaktorion, silver stater, (300-250 B.C.), (8.43 g), obv. Pegasos with pointed wing flying to left, NA monogram beneath, rev. Head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet over leather cap, before API, behind **DW* and flaming altar, (cf.S.2255, Calciati 58-9 [p.499-500], Cammann NN&M 53 No.3 [p.26], BMC 69 [p.121], SNG Cop. 299 [Pl.7], HGC 4, 763). Traces of golden red over light patination, nearly extremely fine and very rare.

Ex Superior Coin and Stamp Auctions, December 10, 1988 (lot 1920) known as the Moreira Sale part 2, and previously from the Otto Helbing, Munich sale 12/4/1927, (lot 1750, illustrated).
Unusual in that this die has monogram of AN reversed, a similar specimen is noted in BMC.
