Marcian, (A.D. 450-457), gold solidus, Constantinople mint, issued 450-457, (4.38 g), obv. helmeted and cuirassed bust facing slightly to the right, holding spear and shield, D N MARCIA NVS P F AVG around, rev. Victory standing to left, holding long cross, star in right field, VICTORI A AVGGG H around, CONOB in exergue, (S.21379, RIC 510, Depeyrot 87/1). Die flaw on reverse near exergue, broad flan, nearly very fine and very scarce.
