Galerius as Caesar, (A.D. 293-305), silver argenteus, 3rd Officinae, Rome Mint, issued A.D. c.294-5, (3.18 g), obv. laureate head of Galerius to right, around MAXIMIA NVS CAES, rev. around VICTORI A SARMAT, the four tetrarchs sacrificing over lighted tripod before city enclosure with six turrets, **G* in exergue, (S.14253, RIC 38b, RSC 208). Lightly toned, superb large flan, extremely fine and rare.
