Caracalla, (A.D. 198-217), silver denarius, issued 213, Rome mint, (2.63 g), obv. laureate head to right of Caracalla, around ANTONINVS PIVS AVG BRIT, rev. Caracalla standing to right in military dress, accompanied by officer (signifer) holding standard, around PROFECTIO AVG, (S.6877, RIC 226, RSC 509). Toned with blue patination, nearly extremely fine/good very fine, scarce.
