Hadrian, (A.D. 117-138), AE sestertius, Rome mint, issued A.D. 134-138, (25.08 g), obv. laureate bust of Hadrian draped to right, around HADRIANVS AVG COS III P P, rev. [HISPANIA] around, S C in exergue, Hispania reclining left, holding olive branch and resting left elbow on rock, (S.3603, RIC 851, C.832) (illustrated); another, (25.20 g), rev. Nilus reclining right, holding reed and cornucopia, resting elbow on sphinx left, child above knee, at feet, second child on back of hippopotamus, below, crocodile left, (S.3613, RIC 863). Toning, nearly fine - nearly very fine, scarce. (2)
