Egypt, Kingdom of, Ptolemy I, Soter, (305-283 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, Alexandria mint, struck 287-286 B.C. (Davesne & Le Rider chronology based on Meydancikkale Hoard), (13.82 g), obv. head of Ptolemy to right with aegis, rev. eagle to left on thunderbolt with closed wings, to left P above A, around **PTOLEMAIOU BASILEWS*, (cf.S.7761, Sv.247, SNG Cop.-). Attractively toned, mild scratches and banker's mark on obverse, good very fine, scarce in this condition.
