Baktria, Kingdom of, Apollodotus II, (c.80-65 B.C.), silver drachm, (2.12 g), obv. diademed head of Apollodotus to right, dotted border, around **BASILEWS SOTHROS KAI FILOPATOROS, APOLLODOTOU*, rev. standing Athena Alkidemos to left with shield and hurling thunderbolt, monograms in right fields, (S.7672, Bop. BN Apoll. II Series 1 F, SNG ANS 1531-2); Indo-Scythian, Azes I (c.58 B.C. - A.D.12, Mitchiner chronology), silver drachm, (2.09 g), obv. king holding whip seated on horse walking right, Greek legend around, monogram to right, rev. Zeus Nikephorus standing to left, holding Nike and sceptre monograms in field (cf.M.2426, type 853e, Senior 105.375D) (illustrated). Toning, good fine - nearly extremely fine, scarce. (2)
