Sasanian King, Peroz I, (A.D. 457-484), silver drachm, (3.72 g), mint of DA (Darabgird), obv. text in Pahlavi, wearing crown and two wings, cuirassed bust right, on floral ornament, wearing mural crown over crescent and korymbos, rev. "Fire of Shahpur" in Pahlavi, fire altar flanked by two attendants, star and crescent to left and right, (Sellwood 49, SNS Type IIIb/1c, Karlsson D29, Gobl type III/1, cf.illustration 174, cf.Sunrise 941). Bright, nearly extremely fine, scarce.
