Palestine, Judaea, `Judaea Capta', Domitian, (A.D. 81-96), Provincial coinage under Roman administration, Caesarea mint, issued A.D. 81-96, AE 23, (11.02 g), obv. laureate head to left of Domitian, around most of IMP DOMITIANVS CAES AVG GERMANICVS, starting lower left, dotted border, rev. Minerva advancing to left, placing helmet on trophy with right hand, shield and spear in left hand, dotted border, (S.886, Hendin 1455, AJC Sup. VIII 7 [p.291, Pl.36], Meshorer 243 [p.178, Pl.XXXI], SNG ANS 492-494, SNG Cop -, BMC 45-52). Brown patina, very fine and rare.
