Syria, Kingdom of, Seleucus II Callincus, (246-226 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (16.82 g), Seleucia on the Tigris Mint, issued after 245 B.C., obv. diademed head of Seleucus II to right, dotted border, rev. Apollo standing to left, holding arrow and leaning on tripod, on right **BASILEWS*, to left **SELE UKOU*, to left an inner monogram of NXTP, to right outer monogram of **D/S*, (cf.S.6896, SC 763.2a, Newell ESM 201, Houghton 966, BMC -, Babelon -, HGC 9, 303jj [R1-R2]). Bright, some minor surface roughness, otherwise very fine and very rare.
