Thessaly, Larissa, (c.460-450 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.38 g), obv. the hero Thessalos to right with petasos hanging around head restraining bull by band held around its head, lotus below, dotted border, rev. bridled horse prancing to left, **LA RI* below and above, all within an incuse square, (S.2106, Lorber Thessalian 9 var. [no lotus], BCD Thessaly I, 1108 (similar), BCD Thessaly II, 152 [same obverse die], BMC 6, HGC 4, 411 [same obverse die]). Toned, worn and corroded obverse die, otherwise very fine, rare.
