Macedon, Kingdom of, Philip III, (323-316 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.09 g), Arados mint, issued 323-315 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right with lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated to left, eagle in outstretched hand, sceptre in left hand, shield to left, AP monogram under throne, to right **[FI]LIPPOU, below traces of **BASILEWS, dotted border, (cf.S.6749, Price P165 ("Marathus"); Arthur Houghton, "Aradus, not Marathus," in Studies Price pg. 146; M?ller P111; cf SNG Ashmolean 3212, cf.HGC 3, 973h). Lightly toned, off centred reverse, very fine or better.
