Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (15.99g), Babylon mint, issued c.317-311 B.C., obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, dotted border, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, in exergue **BASILE[WS]*, MTP monogram in wreath to left, **ALEXAND[ROU]* to right, *KL* under throne, (cf.S.6713, Price 3713, BMC 3713, M.717). Some toning, very fine.
