Thrace, Kingdom of, Lysimachos, (323-281 B.C.), silver tetradrachm, (17.08 grams), probably Lampsacus mint, issued before or after 282/1 B.C., obv. head of Alexander to right, with diadem and horn of Ammon, within dotted border, rev. Athena enthroned to left, supporting Nike, shield at side with Medusa head in centre, HP monogram in outer left field, monogram KA (A on side) in inner left field, to right **BASILEWS* to left **LUSIMACOU*, (cf.S.6814, M.356, cf.Thompson 48, 59, 60). Toned, slight surface roughness and hoard patina, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.

The monograms on the reverse are both coupled with other symbols and are consequently suggested to be from the mint of Lampsacus. The obverse die is from the very similar or from the same hand of other issues from this mint.
