Thrace, Island off Thrace, Thasos, (c.463-411 B.C.), silver drachm, (3.53 g), obv. naked ithyphallic Satyr in a kneeling running attitude carrying off protesting nymph, rev. quadripartite incuse square, (S.1748, BMC 32-34, McClean 4203-4 [Pl.151, 26-27], SNG Cop. 1019 var [leaf], Le Rider, Thasiennes 8, HGC 6, 336). Good very fine with good facial and artistic detail, rare in this condition.
