Thrace, Maroneia, (c.411/0-398/7 B.C.), silver triobol,
(2.63 g), obv. forepart of prancing horse to left, magistrate A[N]**Q* around, rev. bunch of grapes on branch, kantharos to left, MA to right all within a dotted shallow incuse square, (cf.S.1632 [?150], Schonert-Geiss 253 [obv. 40, rev.47], Hunterian p.380 , 5 [same dies], HGC 3.2 1534). Good very fine, very rare.

Ex CNG by private treaty January 2004.
The Roma Auction XXI (lot 143) of this variety sold on 24 March 2021 and realised ?1400 and was in similar condition.
