Italy, Calabria, Tarentum (Taras), (272-235 B.C.), silver nomos, stater or didrachm, (6.31 g), obv. naked rider crowning stationary horse to left, below horse **LUKI NOS* in two lines, above to right **SU*, rev. Taras astride a dolphin to left, holding a chlamys on left arm and trident in right hand, to right, owl, **TA RAS below, (cf.S.374, Vl.839, cf.SNG ANS 1168-9). Lightly toned, extremely fine.
