Italy, Lucania, Thurium (Thourioi), (400-350 B.C.), silver distater or double nomos, (15.38 g), obv. head of Athena to right wearing crested Athenian helmet, ornamented with figure of Scylla, rev. bull butting to right, **QOURIW[N] above, large tunny fish below exergual line, (S.440, Noe F44, SNG ANS 971). Attractively toned, slight die flaw on obverse, very fine - good very fine and very rare.
