Islamic, Artuqids of Mardin, Najm al-Din Alpi, (A.H. 547-572) (A.D. 1152-1176), copper dirham, pictorial type, no mint or date, obv. facing male heads (Gemini), rev. facing female head (Virgo), (A.1827, M.1030, S/S 30.1, Edham 37, BMC 383); another obv. two diademed male busts in profile facing each other, dot between, rev. Virgin, nimbate on right and Byzantine emperor on left both standing facing, (A.1827, M.1027, S/S 28, Edham 31-33, BMC 372-4). Good fine the second scarce. (2)
