Description
S S Flora tag, impressed on the smoothed reverse of a Great Britain young head Queen Victoria penny, holed at top edge for suspension. Very good and scarce.
The S S Flora, originally a livestock transport ship, was purchased by the Tasmanian Steam Navigation Company in 1883 to replace wrecked S S Tasman and was converted to a passenger ship for their Hobart-Sydney service.
