Ernest John Hill, labourer, age 39, born at Yorkshire, UK; Enl.14Jul1915; Emb.18Nov1915; reported MIA 20Jul1916 then WIA then POW; Transferred to Schillerschule, Wirtburg 28Oct1916, then to Hammelburg, Bavaria 16Nov1916; Hill escaped for 11 days then was sent to Holland for internment 13Jun1918; RTA 23Mar1919 aboard HMAT Czar with GSW to both legs; Disch.11Jul1919.
