Victory Medal 1914-19 to died at Gallipoli. 2935 Pte. R.Vardigans. Norf. R. Impressed. Good very fine.

Robert Vardigans, born 1890 at Reepham, Norfolk; Enl. in Norfolk Battalion; Emb. on the troopship HMT Aquitania for Mudros Bay, Gallipoli; landed at Gallipoli on 9 August 1915; fought at the Battle of Anafarta Ridge and fought to take the trenches around the Kuchuk Ridge lines; Died of enteric fever on 7 October 1915; Buried at East Mudros Military Cemetery. Robert's older brother, Albert Victor Vardigans, was KIA 03Sep1917 and is buried at Wimereux Communal Cemetery.
