Trio to WIA: 1914-15 Star; British War Medal 1914-18; Victory Medal 1914-19. 1023 Pte R.B.Gwynn. 24 Bn. A.I.F. All medals impressed. Nearly very fine.
Together with an appreciation fob 'Duty Done' with soldier standing and gun at side, in 15ct gold, reverse inscribed, 'Pte. R.B.Gwynne (sic)/from residents of/Thornton'.
Richard Baker Gwynn, grocer, age 38, born at Shropshire, UK; Enl.09Mar1915 at Melbourne with previous service of one year with D Coy 2 Vol Bn SW Borderers; Emb.08May1915; to Gallipoli 30Aug1915; to hospital ship at Anzac with pleurisy 08Dec1915 and transfer to 3 Aux Hosp, Heliopolis; WIA 29Jul1916 shell shock, France; RTA 12Nov1916 and Disemb.31Dec1916; Disch.12Apr1917 Medically Unfit (Shell Shock); Died 13Aug1935.
