Gordian III, (A.D.238-244), silver antoninianus, (3.50 g) struck 240-244 A.D. obv. radiate and cuirassed drapped bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. MARTEM PROPVG-NATOREM, Mars walking right holding spear and shield, (RIC 147, RSC 160); another, issued 242-244 A.D., (4.40 g), obv. radiate cuirassed bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AUG, rev. VICTORIA GORDIANI AVG around, Victory advancing right bearing wreath, (RIC 219, RSC 380); another, issued 241-243 A.D., obv. draped and cuirassed bust right, around IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG, rev. VIRTVTI AVGVSTI around, Hercules standing front, head right, holding club and lion skin, (RIC 95, RSC 404). Very fine - nearly extremely fine. (3)
