Septimius Severus, (A.D. 193-211), silver denarius, Rome Mint, issued A.D. 204, (3.52 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. around VICT PART MAX, Victory walking to left, holding palm and wreath, (S.6372, RIC 295, RSC.744) (illustrated); another Emesa mint, issued A.D. 194, (2.81 g), obv. laureate head of Septimius Severus to right, around IMP CAE L SEP SEV PERT AVG COS II, rev. around FELIC[IT TE]MPOR, corn-ear between two crossed cornucopiae, (cf.S.6274, RIC 373, RSC 142b). Toned, nearly very fine - good very fine. (2)
