Septimius Severus, (A.D.193-211), silver denarius, issued 200-201, Rome Mint, (3.38 g), obv. laureate head right, around SEVERVS AVG PART MAX, rev. RESTITVTOR VRBIS, Septimius Severus standing left, sacrificing out of patera over tripod altar, holding spear, (S.6357, RIC 168a, RSC 612); another, Rome Mint, (3.28 g), obv. laureate bust right, around SEVERVS PIVS AVG, rev. PART MAX P M TR P VIIII, captives at either side of trophy base (cf.S.6323, RIC 176, RSC 370). Extremely fine. (2)
