Claudius, (A.D. 41-54), AE as, Rome mint type, issued 41-42, (9.31 g), obv. bare head to left, around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP P P, rev. Minerva to right, helmeted and draped, hurling javelin and holding shield, SC in field, (S.1862, RIC 116, C.84) (illustrated); another, Rome mint, issued A.D. 50-54, (10.96 g), obv. bare head to left of Claudius around TI CLAVDIVS CAESAR AVG P M TR P IMP, rev. [LIBER]TAS AVGVS[TA], S C across field, Libertas standing right holding pileus, (S.1859, RIC 97, C.47); Galba (A.D. 68-69), AE dupondius, Rome mint, issued A.D. June-August 68 (13.37 g), obv. laureate head of Galba to right, around SER GALBA IMP CAESAR TR P, rev. around PAX AVGVST, S C either side of Pax standing to left, holding branch and cornucopiae, (cf.S.2129, RIC 280, cf.C.149). Green and brown toning, some surface pitting, nearly fine - nearly very fine. (3)
