Valentinian I, (A.D. 364-375), gold solidus, Thessalonica mint, issued 364, (4.46 g), obv. pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust to right of Valentinian I around DN VALENTINI ANVS PF AVG, rev. Valentinian I and Valens enthroned facing, holding globe between them, Victory hovering behind them, wings spread, VICTOR IA AVGG around, SMTES in exergue, (S.19286, RIC IX 4, C.43, Depeyrot 25/1). Very fine and very rare.
