Vespasian, (A.D. 69-79), AE sestertius, (23.70 g), Lugdunum mint, issued 77-78 A.D., obv. laureate head of Vespasian to right, around IMP CAES VESPASIAN AVG P M TR P PP COS VIII, rev. Salus seated left holding patera and sceptre, in exergue S C, around SALVS AVGVSTA, (cf.S.2334 var, RIC 1208, BMC 827). Deeply toned, some surface marks, otherwise nearly very fine and scarce.
