The Assocd Board of The Royal Academy of Music & The Royal College of Music, (1918), in gold (36.98g; 39mm), by Pinches, reverse inscribed, 'Awarded to/Mabel Meillon/Highest Marks/Advanced Grade/Pianoforte/Local Centre Examinations/New South Wales/1918.' Some hairlines on reverse, otherwise extremely fine.

It was reported that at a Miss Mary Wilson's Concert at St James Hall on 10 December 1913 that a pupil, Mabel Meillon, played the Chopin 'Study in E Major' with expression. She was the granddaughter of the late Mrs Theodore Beosen who was a gifted pianist. In December 1918 Miss Mabel Meillon was awarded the above gold medal. She was a pupil of J.Hugh McMenamin A.R.C.M. In October 1919 she passed the L.A.B. (Licentiate of the Associated Board) of the Royal Academy of Music and Royal College of Music.

Mabel Meillon is said to be related to the late John Meillon who had an illustrious acting career and was one of the stars of the record breaking Australian movie, Crocodile Dundee.
