al-Zahir Sayf al din Barquq, second reign (A.H. 792-801) (A.D. 1390-1399), gold heavy dinar, (8.68 grams), Halab mint (Aleppo), A.H. 795 = A.D. 1392-1393, obv. & rev. six lines of legend with various symbols in the field, (A.972, cf.Balog 577, the date not listed in Balog, struck from the same dies as Sotheby Sale 28 V 1987 [lot 805]). Nearly extremely fine, a rare mint and extremely rare for this date.
