Hamdanids, Nasir al-Dawlah Al Hasan (A.H. 317-358) (A.D. 919-969) & citing his brother Sayf al-Dawlah 'Ali of Aleppo, (A.H. 333-356) (A.D. 945-967), silver dirhams, Mosul mint (on Tigris river), issued A.H. 33[8] = A.D. 949-950, (A.748 = A.261, cf.M.589), another al Masisah mint (Cilicia), issued A.H. 353 = A.D. 964, (A.748 = A.261). Off centred with edge split, fine, the second weak in outer areas, otherwise very fine, both very scarce. (2)

The Hamdanids of Iraq and Syria (A.H. 317-406, A.D. 929-1015), issued coinage in Syria and the Jazira, the two branches issued coinage in joint name and had respective capitals at Aleppo and Mosul.
