Ottoman Empire, late 18th century, jambiya dagger in the style of earlier 16th and 17th century daggers, with Wootz (Damascus watered) steel blade 17.75cm long with a nicely engraved silver cross guard, bone grip, the scabbard with engraved silver locket and chape and at end of chape is a horse's head, total length including scabbard 30.5cm. A few small dents in locket and chape, otherwise good very fine and rare.
