Crispina, wife of Commodus, (A.D. 177-192), silver denarius, issued 177-192 A.D., Rome Mint, (3.13 g), obv. bust to right of Crispina, around CRISPINA AVGVSTA, rev. I V N O around, Juno, veiled standing to front with head to left, holding patera and sceptre; to left, a peacock standing to left. (S.6001, RIC 283, BMC 41, RSC 21); another issued 177-192 A.D., Rome Mint, obv. bust to right of Crispina, around CRISPINA AVGVSTA, rev. V E N V S around, Venus standing to front with head to left, holding apple and drawing up fold of drapery on left shoulder, (S.6002, RIC 286a, BMC 44, RSC 35), Last with reverse off centre, otherwise very fine or better, both scarce.
