Macedon, Kingdom of, Alexander III, (336-323 B.C.), silver drachm, (4.09 g), Kolophon mint, issued c.301-299 B.C. under Antigonos I Monophthalmos, obv. head of Herakles to right wearing lion skin, rev. Zeus seated on throne to left, eagle in outstretched hand, lion head and **F* to left, **ALEXANDROU* to right, crab-claw below throne (cf.S.6730, Price 1838, M 340 b). Toned, off centre on reverse, otherwise very fine.
