FRANCE, Carolingian issue, Louis the Pious, (814-840), silver denarius, (1.54 g), later period issue, blundered inscriptions and legend, obv. cross in circle, dots in angles, IIIIIIIIIOIIIIIIIII around, rev. temple, OIIIOIIIIIIIIIOIIII around, (Roberts 1136). Toned, nearly extremely fine and rare.
